MAMMALS AND BIRD CONSERVATION STRATEGIES THROUGH COMMUNITY-BASED WILDLIFE WATCHING ECOTOURISM DEVELOPMENT IN PERHUTANI AREA IN PONCOKUSUMO, MALANG DISTRICT, EAST JAVA

Perhutani area in Poncokusumo is inhabited by endemic and protected mammals birds. However the data of species are still lacking while wildlife threatened forest conversion hunting activities. Â This study aims to determine bird conservation strategies through watching ecotourism based on community. The objectives survey birds Poncokusumo, analyze perception knowledge community visitors toward wildlife, local people idea develop conducted SWOT analysis formulate strategy results showed that has 13 54 included category with very good quality fauna diversity. Local visitor perceptions towards vary, but most respondents support developing ecotourism. From result, there 5 strategic recommendations. suggest perhutani possible be applied.
